Info: This is the original Canon Financial Manager, labelled simply ‘Canon FINANCIAL’ above the keyboard. It combines financial calculations, statistics and a useful selection of mathematical functions.
The [MODE]-button selects normal calculation, statistics, sinking-fund, loan and interest modes. Several keys change function accordingly: for example, [CST] also retrieves sample standard deviation, and [MAR] retrieves the mean in statistical mode. CANON’s manual documents both one-variable and two-variable statistics, including correlation and regression values. A distinctive feature is the [COMP] / [RCL arrangement]. Financial keys serve as storage locations: you enter known values, then use [COMP] followed by the appropriate key to calculate an unknown, [RCL] retrieves a stored value. It also supports payments at the beginning or end of a period.
