Info: German operating and programming manual. It explains the calculator’s controls, memory functions and methods for automating repeated calculations. The AL-1000 performs addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and square roots. It has a 14-digit display and four numerical memories: memories I and II hold 14 digits each, while III and IV hold seven digits each. Each memory can store a value, retain a protected constant or accumulate a running total. Decimal settings allow results to be rounded or truncated to between zero and eight decimal places. Programming uses numerical instruction codes entered through the keypad. The program memory consists of two sections, A and B, each holding up to 15 instructions. These can accommodate a longer sequence or two separately selectable routines. The mode switch selects program entry (W), ordinary manual calculation (N) or program execution (R). Programs can pause for new input and end with a return instruction that prepares the calculator for another run. The manual also explains how to inspect and erase programs, recognise error indications and shorten calculation sequences. Worked examples and program cards illustrate formulas involving several variables, memory operations and square roots. Listed calculation times are 0.008 seconds for addition or subtraction and 0.02–0.2 seconds for multiplication or division.
