(Page 1/1)

Classification: / Company Info,
Info: PANASONIC is a Japanese company founded in 1918 by Konosuke MATSUSHITA.
From 1935 until 01-oct-2008, the company was named MATSUSHITA ELECTRIC INDUSTRIAL Co., Ltd.
MATSUSHITA'S brother-in-law, Toshio IUE, founded SANYO as a subcontractor for components after World War II.
SANYO grew to become a competitor to PANASONIC, but was later acquired by PANASONIC in dec-2009.
The company used the NATIONAL brand outside of North America from the 1950s to the 1970s (the trademark could not be used in the United States because it was already in use by the NATIONAL RADIO COMPANY).
PANASONIC made many series of pocket- and desktop models, it seems the export models were supporting an 'U'-extension, e.g. JE2002U.
Many OEM-calculators were made by PANASONIC for the german company OLYMPIA, after they decided to stop development themselves.
