TEKTRONIX_perips: 152 (Calculator General Purpose BCD Interface for 31)
(Page 1/1)

Product number (P/N): 152,
Keywords/Tags: 152
Date of intro: ~1974,
Classification: / Perhiperal / Interface (BCD),
Info: The purpose of interface circuitry is to match the communication channels between two digital devices.
Interface circuits act as a go-between, converting the data format from one device to a data format that is acceptable
In addition, interface circuits supervise the data rate to insure that the amount of data transferred per second is acceptable to both units.
The 152 Calculator General Purpose BCD Interface is designed specifically to interface peripheral devices that have a BCD bit-parallel,
digit parallel in-put/output capability to the TEKTRONIX: 21 and 31 Calculators.
Utilizing the 152 Interface, peripherals can send data directly to the calculator display register or to the R-registers located in the 31 Calculator memory.
High speed data ports allow data to be transferred directly to the 31 Calculator memory at a rate up to 15,000 data samples per second.
The 152 is not only a high speed interface, it's a controller.
The 152 allows digits in the calculator display I to be transfered back to a peripheral for the purpose of i addressing programmable devices.
Such devices include Data Multiplexers, Digital to Analog Converters, Counters, and Read Only Memories.
In addition, separate trigger pulses can be issued by the interface upon receiving a remote command from the calculator.
These trigger pulses can be used to turn on power supplies, reset counters, disable circuits, and change peripheral operational modes.
