In the spring of 1971, they developed a multi-digit display tube which was called SEPTANIX (SEPTANIX I), mass production started in October of the same year.
In the spring of 1972, they developed the successor SEPTANIX II, which began mass production in September of the same year.
SEPTANIX (Septanics) is a registered trademark of JCR.
‘SEPT’ meaning "seven", ‘SEPTA’ meaning ’multiple partitions’ in other words: partition walls shielding each girder.
‘NIX’ was taken from ‘Electronics’.
