(From brochure): For precision and speed in scientific and technical calculations, the 2017-P high speeds calculator printer has no equal. There is no limit to the number of calculation steps. Comined with a 17 word memory, the machine easily statisfies demands for processing highly complex satellite orbit calculations or simple standard business calculations. The BUSICOM 2017-P processes almost any kind of calculation and is controlled like a computer with punched command cards. It displays 6 rows of digits on its 6" screen and seperately prints the data shown. - 17 Word Memory and Unlimited Calculation Steps: Perfect temporal memory or accumulation is available from the 17 word memory, constants are punched in the command cards. Unlimited development of calculation steps is possible by joining cards together. - Automatic Calculation: Calculation errors resulting from wrong key commands are eliminated by the use of command cards. By touching the [FWD]-key before entering data to be processed, the calculation, according to the program punched on the command cards (processing order and constants), is completely automatic. - Cathode Ray Tube Display and Print: The 6" cathode ray tube displays 5 rows of digits (3 working registers and 2 main memory contents). At the same time the data shown may he printed giving a record which allows easy checking of the process and result. Writing errors and loss of time are eliminated. - Easy Programming: The programming (punching) of the command cards corresponds to key command operation; therefore, it is easy for any person who has mastered the key operation to make the cards. Punching of the cards is done by pushing out the centers of precut holes with a ball point pen or similardev ice. - Logical Decision: Logical decision commands may be programmed to compare value, control routine and for automatic repeat. - High Speed Printer: The electronic circuitry makes possible high speed printing 0.3 seconds for one line.
